The Ressurectionist

Great job on rendering a general impression of the face without overly stark lines, it's a great skill. It gives a great overall impression, but some of the specifics, like the corner of the eye and the lips could use a little editting. Great job on the angle of the left browbone though, that's often hard

Hello and good evening, Janhackstrom, it's me again, and I just wanna say, thank you for your post on this expression above. Great work on your facial proportions and anatomy. I love your edges, spaces and relationships very much. Keep up the good work.

However, I have one small criticism. I love the linear realism, but there's not enough of the funny caricature. Please loosen up your facial lines and spaces with 30 minutes of 30 second facial expressions? (60 faces) More caricature along the lines inspired by Roman Genn?

The reason why you would go with this critique is because, if you want to draw more than a sewing machine, then I suggest you use your whole shoulder to work economically and rapidly, just to pay attention to the broad strokes, and less on the forms and details. If you don't know who Roman is, he's a cariacurist for the American Conservative magazine, National Review. His illustrations are realisticly drawn and really funny to look at. For more influences, I think you'll look up for more Hirschfeld and Scarfe, cause they've struggled, and still struggle more harder than you, then you're never ever alone. Hope this pep talk has been helpful to you and your goals.
